Hanging Lake Colorado

On our way home from Rocky Mountain National Park, we stopped and hiked up to Hanging Lake Colorado. Besides the large popularity of the site and therefore the MILLIONS of people we had to share the trail with, Hanging Lake was nearly one of the most beautiful places I have seen.

Imagine a quite pool of crystal clear water that is gently being fed by a series of trickling waterfalls falling off moss covered cliffs.  Then imagine a petrified tree that has been perserved in a solid rock-like state that protrudes out into the middle of the crystal ice-cold water. Imagine walking out into the middle of this paradise and breathing deeply the fresh clean moist air. You have just imagined Hanging Lake!
